Service Description

This comprehensive oral examination is perfect for mothers who are struggling with breastfeeding and concerned their baby may have a tongue and/or lip-tie. Even if your baby has been evaluated for ties in the past or you've been told your baby does NOT have a tie, proper assessment and evaluation are key to proper diagnosis and MANY healthcare providers are NOT properly trained to accurately diagnose oral ties. This assessment is used for the sole purpose of determining if the IBCLC observes breastfeeding difficulties caused by restricted oral structures and if you and your baby would benefit from working with an IBCLC, require further evaluation by a tongue-tie specialist such as a qualified dentist, SLP, Craniosacral specialist, chiropractor, pediatrician, PT, OT, feeding therapist, etc. Recommendations and referrals will be made following the assessment. Upon booking, you will receive an email with a link to the patient portal through MilkNotes, which includes all new patient materials and information about your appointment. Payment is due at time of service. If booking online, payment is due at time of booking in order to reserve your time slot. To avoid $25 cancellation fee, 24 hour prior notice is required for all cancellations. Insurance-coded receipt given at appointment to submit for insurance claim.
